Executive summary

This project provides a detailed plan of a new company namely Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. operating in catering industry and other services in Binh Duong. It includes main points when establishing a new project. The company wishes to bring to the quality and safe meals to the consumers to be able to become one of the most prestigious companies in the  industrial meal market. Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. focuses on the domestic market, particularly in Binh Duong province (as Binh Duong is the province where the company is headquartered and operated, as well as has many industrial parks). The target customers of the company are many companies in the industrial zones in the province and across the country. In addition, there are offices, hotels, schools,… having a lot of employees / workers. Each type of customer has different demand for products / services offered by the company.

Project overview:

Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. project was licensed to establish in January 2014 and it will officially operate in the field of catering industry business and other services in November 2015. It is located at 705 Huynh Van Luy, Phu My Ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province. This project will be implemented and completed from 01/02/2015 to 10/30/2015. Phu Binh An offers the following products and services:

•Providing catering industry

•Designing and consulting canteen

•Providing kitchen equipment

•Providing foodstuffs

•Organizing meetings and parties

•Providing other services: Fast food and drinks package in the factory; meals for foreigners as required.

In particular, Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in processing and providing catering industry; organizing collective kitchens offered to employees in factories, offices, hotels, schools, businesses,… in Binh Duong province and some neighboring areas.

Project scope, benefits and objective:

With the objective that is to bring a safe and quality meal for the community through quality products and services of the company offered by the company, Phu Binh An will affirm its position and credibility through serving more than 10,000 meals per day for businesses in the industrial parks. The major customers of Phu Binh An, such as Saigon Stec Company, Avery Dennison Company, Wanek, Housewares, Tatung, Y & K Fashion Company, Jim Fuyu Company, Ens Foam, Prestart Company,… comes from Japan, America, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan. Especially, the company wants to become one of Vietnam’s leading companies in the field of catering industry and related services based on truthful and sustainable ethical standards of business, and loved, trusted by the consumers.

04 basic stages of project life cycle:

Before the implementation of this project, the project life cycle is carefully reviewed with 4 stages (Pinto & Prescott, 1988):

•Conceptualization: This is the determination of objectives, methods of implementation, and final results of the project. It starts right from the inception of the project. Specifically, in this project, this step helps researchers consider important aspects including the purpose of the project requirements, feasibility, potential profitability, level of costs, risks and necessary resources. At the same time, the ideas of the project as methods and results in terms of limited resources should be outlined in detail.

•Planning: This stage includes the most complex tasks of the project: establish project team, determine organizational structure; plan on time, budget, resources, costs,… It can be said that the success of the project depends largely on the quality and the careful preparation of the plan during this stage.

•Execution: This stage includes tasks as constructing premises, select tools, purchase equipment, install,… This is the stage accounting most of time and effort.

•Termination: This period is to put the project into operation or use, and end of the project. It includes completion of the construction and relevant records, initial operation,…

2.Project requirements

Outcome factors of the project:

When coming into operation in practice, Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. project will bring many positive results as: serving the industrial meals for thousands of employees; providing other services for a lots companies; creating value, jobs and incomes for workers; contributing tax to the state budget,…

Requirements for the progress:

There are five periods implemented from the beginning to ending in Phu Binh An Co., Ltd. project. And in each period, the project requirements are different, specially:

•Preparing the necessary factors: All necessary factors, such as finance, human resources,… are needed to prepare carefully before implementing the project. They are indispensable elements to ensure the success of the project. In addition, it’s necessary to ensure enough both quantity and quality of these factors in order to implement the project conveniently and easily.

•Designing company: In this period, the design must fit the area, size, purpose, requirements,… of the project. Every detail of the blueprint must be expressed clearly and specifically prior to the construction project phrase.

•Constructing company: The progress of the construction project must be ensured in accordance with the planned schedule. All the necessary resources, such as raw materials, labor,… are needed to use reasonably and efficiently; avoid wastage in order to manage costs well.

•Completing company: After the project is built, it’s necessary to examine thoroughly the size, quality,… of the work and compare them with requirements and standards set out in order to assess the quality of the project objectively.

•Purchasing necessary of machinery and equipment, organizing HR: This is the last task before putting the company in practice. This phase requires the company to be equipped with all necessary machinery and equipment. In addition, the company needs organize and arrange HR to have appropriate organizational structure in order to perform well in the future.

Quality and safety requirements:

In addition, the project also has the quality and safety requirements to ensure the success of the company (Trienekens & Zuurbier, 2008).
